Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-31

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses the file-delivery services and APIs operated under bottleneck.cc and apis.bneck.com (the "Service"). It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms have the meanings given in the Terms.

The Service exists to deliver files you have the right to share, to people you choose to share them with. We keep the rules short and the enforcement firm. Breaking this policy can result in immediate removal of your content, suspension or termination of your account, forfeiture of any prepaid credits, and - where the law requires or permits - reporting to law enforcement.

---

1. You must have the right to share what you upload

You may only upload, send, store, or link to files that you own or are otherwise authorized to share. You are responsible for everything sent through your account or API keys.

2. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not use the Service to upload, store, send, link to, or facilitate any of the following:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors, or content that is harmful to minors. Zero tolerance. See Section 4.
  • Malware - viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, spyware, rootkits, cryptominers, or any code or file designed to harm, disrupt, gain unauthorized access to, or exfiltrate data from any device, system, or network.
  • Executable and active-content files where prohibited by our file-type allowlist. The Service accepts only the following file types: PDF, TXT, MD, PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP. Attempts to disguise other file types (for example, by renaming or altering extensions or MIME types) are prohibited.
  • Phishing, spoofing, or credential harvesting - content designed to deceive people into revealing passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information, or to impersonate any person, brand, or organization.
  • Spam and unsolicited bulk distribution, or using the Service as a payload host or redirector for spam, scams, or fraudulent schemes.
  • Illegal content or activity of any kind, including content that infringes copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual-property or proprietary rights; stolen data or credentials; and material that violates export-control, sanctions, or other applicable laws.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn") or other content shared without the depicted person's consent, and content that violates another person's privacy.
  • Content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism, incites or threatens violence, or facilitates serious harm to people or property.
  • Doxxing / sensitive personal data of others shared without authorization, including data intended to harass, threaten, or endanger an individual.

3. Prohibited technical abuse

You may not:

  • Attempt to circumvent file-size, rate, credit, storage, or access limits, or the file-type allowlist, or the single-use / expiry / password controls.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure, without our prior written permission.
  • Use the Service to conduct denial-of-service attacks, distribute attack tooling, or relay traffic to attack third parties.
  • Resell, sublicense, or share API keys outside your own organization, or use automated means to abuse free tiers or evade billing.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the data it contains.

4. Child safety - zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and content that exploits or endangers minors. If we become aware of apparent CSAM on the Service, we will remove it, suspend the responsible account, preserve the relevant data, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and/or appropriate law enforcement, as required by applicable law (including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A in the United States). We cooperate with valid law-enforcement requests.

We do not affirmatively monitor all content, but we may review content and act on reports or signals of abuse.

5. Reporting abuse

If you believe content delivered through the Service violates this policy, or if you have received unwanted, malicious, or illegal content via a link, please report it. See our Abuse & Takedown Policy for how to report, what to include, and our response commitment. To report a suspected copyright infringement, follow the DMCA process on that page.

6. Enforcement

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:

  • remove or disable access to any content or link;
  • suspend or terminate accounts and revoke API keys;
  • preserve and disclose information to law enforcement where required or permitted by law; and
  • take any other action we deem appropriate.

We may act on a single violation. We do not guarantee that we will detect or act on every violation, and our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. We also maintain a repeat-infringer policy and will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, accounts of users who are repeat infringers of intellectual-property rights.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Automated metadata removal, file-type screening, and any abuse scanning are provided on a best-effort basis and are not guaranteed to be complete or error-free. Nothing in this policy creates any warranty. See the full disclaimer and limitation of liability in the Terms of Service.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this AUP at any time by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Questions about this policy may be sent to [[email protected] - INSERT]. For abuse and takedown reports, use the channels in the Abuse & Takedown Policy.
